Our meeting yesterday was a wonderful meeting and very informative for searching Military records. We had approximately 25-30 people present at the meeting on a rainy Saturday morning with an early afternoon Arkansas Game coming up! Marcia, as always, gave a wonderfully informative and interesting talk on the history of the War of 1812 as well as the records it left and gave us all some great leads on where to find those records!
Several of those present asked for the presentation information from the meeting. I am including a link to the PDF file of the meeting presentation. The file should open with Adobe Reader or your computer’s default PDF viewer: War of 1812.
Our next meeting will be on November 17, 2012 – DNA in Genealogy – 10 AM Fayetteville Public Library Walker Meeting Room. Carol Reel will be presenting that program. I am looking forward to learning about the role DNA could play in my genealogy research.
