Habberton School ca 1909

Courtesy of Diane Jones

db_HabbertonSchool1909 I’m attaching a photo of the Habberton School ca 1909. It was on a postcard sent to my grandmother, Winnie Walker, who was born & raised on Walker’s Bluff in Habberton. Winnie was 13 when her mother died in 1908 and she went to Fayetteville to live with an older sister, Nora (Walker) Kelly. The card was sent to her by a friend named Ora. In the 1910 census in Goshen township, I found an Ora Darnell, age 17, daughter of Bell Darnell who may be the friend who sent the photo. Winnie was the youngest child of Samuel Franklin Walker and Margaret Emily Baker.

db_HabbertonPostCardI wish I knew if my grandmother was one of the children in the photo! I would also like to be able to name any of the people in the photo, so if anyone recognizes someone in it, please let me know!

If anyone has information they wish to share please email WCAGS and we will get this to Mrs. Jones.
